Terms

Last updated 18 October 2026

These are the terms for using Dualcent, the perfume layering app and its website. Using the app means you accept them. They are short on purpose.

Who can use it

You must be 13 or older. One account per person. Keep your sign-in to yourself.

What it does

You scan a perfume bottle, and Dualcent shows you perfumes that layer well with it, keeps the perfumes you have smelt and own, and lets you spin for rarer layers. Layer suggestions come from our own matching built on public fragrance data and from the community. They are suggestions. Skin, climate and taste differ, so try a layer on a small patch first, and stop if anything irritates your skin.

Paying

Fair play

Scans must be of real bottles in front of your camera. Do not scan screens or printed pictures, use scripts or modified apps, or try to claim perfumes you have not scanned. Accounts that cheat can have scans voided, spins removed, or be closed. The checks that catch this are described on the privacy page.

What is yours and what is ours

Pictures you make and share from the app are yours. The app, its design, its matching and the way the catalogue is organised are ours. Perfume names and brands belong to their owners and appear here to identify them. The fragrance information in the catalogue comes from public sources and is offered as is; we do our best to keep it right but cannot promise every note or rating is accurate.

Availability

We work to keep Dualcent running, and parts of it work with no signal, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of faults. We may change or withdraw features. If we ever close the service we will say so in the app with reasonable notice.

Liability

Dualcent is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of the app, from a layer suggestion, or from information in the catalogue. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law.

Ending

You can delete your account at any time in Settings, or as described on the delete account page. We can close an account that breaks these terms.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts there have jurisdiction, without taking away protections you have where you live.
