Dualcent is a perfume app: you scan a bottle, it tells you which perfumes layer well with it, and it keeps the perfumes you have smelt. This page says what the app keeps about you, why, and how to get rid of it. It is written to be read.

Dualcent is run by Abdulrahman Ali in the United Kingdom. For anything about your data, write to support@dualcent.app.

What the app keeps

The web version

If you use Dualcent in a web browser rather than the app, the picture of the label is sent to Google Cloud Vision to read the text, because browsers have no reader of their own. Google processes that picture under its own terms and we do not keep it beyond the scan. The app on your phone reads labels on the phone and sends no picture to Google.

Where it lives

These companies process data on our behalf to run the service. We do not sell your data, we show no adverts, and the app contains no analytics or tracking tools.

What the app does not keep

The perfume catalogue, the names, houses, notes, accords and community ratings, is information about perfumes, not about you. Pictures you share from the app are made on your phone and go wherever you send them; the app does not post anything anywhere and keeps no copy.

How long

Account and collection data stay until you delete the account. Scan snapshots go after 90 days. Security logs go after 30 days. When you delete your account, everything above is removed within 30 days, apart from purchase records we must keep for accounting.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected, or have it deleted. The quickest way to delete everything is in the app: Settings, then Delete account. Otherwise write to support@dualcent.app from the address on the account. If you think we have handled your data badly you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Age

Dualcent is for people aged 13 and over. If you believe a younger child has made an account, tell us and we will remove it.

Changes

If this page changes in a way that matters, the app will say so the next time you open it. The date at the top is always the date of the current version.
